Esther & students at St. Louis University, recently hosted an event calling students to return home to their father God. After the speaker preached on the prodigal son's return home, three students stood to recommit their lives to Jesus. From leading worship to providing hospitality, students largely contributed to the leadership & planning of the event.
Four students volunteered to lead worship (3 were in a bible study last year and 1 just transferred to SLU), a couple other students set up a google document for signing in, and many more students assisted by bringing a variety of snacks & goodies for the night. Seeing students take ownership over the event by giving their time and energies to making it all happen was a marker of great health. It was the difference of having students as partners in ministry verses having students who merely attend an event as consumers.
