Regional Staff Conference

All InterVarsity staff in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas & Nebraska get together once a year for regional meetings. It's a time to renew vision, receive training & hear from our Regional Director about the state of the Region. At the regional meetings held early December, we heard a number of awesome testimonies about God's work on campus. Listening to all the stories from across the region, one thing was very clear: God is bringing a harvest in the Central Region. Students are becoming Christians at a rate we haven't seen in years. After many years of pruning, it is with great thanks that we take in this harvest.

Our 2020 Vision is to see a movement of missional communities planted in our "Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and Ends of the Earth" -- 500 cells, 50 student chapters and 1 overseas students movement.

At the end of 2009, we already had:
- 144 cells
- 95 conversions
- 6 new student chapters, hitting the 1/2 way mark of our 2020 goal
- 2 new ministry areas planted in Kansas & Nebraska (InterVarsity has not had a presence in Nebraska for the past 10 years!)

Praise Jesus! We know that it is the Holy Spirit that makes this ministry possible.

Regional meetings weren't just about work & ministry though. On the last night we had a staff Christmas party accompanied by everyone's favorite ugly Christmas sweater. How ugly can Christmas sweaters get?? The pictures tell it all... and as you can see, there is one sweater that got a lot of camera action that night!
